We have an update for listeners of the show. Anna has confirmed her voice is recovering from the illness she had to contend with last month and will return to host the show next Tuesday, March 11, 2014. We've updated the program schedule. Tune in on Tuesday for, "Climbing the Food Chain". Who are all the players involved in bringing food to our table? As the conflict rages on about GMO labeling, who of these players stand to lose or gain the most? Understanding exactly who is involved and what their stake is in the agricultural process may shed light on the motivations behind pushing GM foods on consumers and why certain companies and institutions are willing to spend millions to keep us from knowing.
Unfortunately listeners we have another program update and postponement. Anna will not be able to return to the show tomorrow night as scheduled due to continuing voice issues she is having resulting from the severe cold she was fighting earlier this month. She is expected to return to the broadcast next week but we can not guarantee that at this time.
Is there a GMO or biotech industry topic you would like Anna to discuss in an upcoming broadcast? Great! Find the link above to our Show Suggestions page and share the word on what you want to know more about. We can't promise the topic will be covered in a dedicated full show but Anna will always make an effort to address what Mad Science listeners want to hear about. If you just have a question or comment, remember you can submit your thoughts to the Listener's Voice and Anna will cover as many as she can during each broadcast. So, tell us! What do you want to know?
We regret to inform listeners that Anna Kavanaugh, your host of Mad Science: The Genetic Crossroad is down sick with an angry cold and will not be able to broadcast new episodes as scheduled until she recovers. We're bringing you all new shows every Tuesday focused on GMO, the biotech agribusiness industry, and the ramifications of it all. Tune in at 7pm PST for "Building to Break".
Tonight's show description - Building to Break: Science. It has propelled the human race forward for thousands of years. While we have bettered our lives in some aspects, there has been a heavy toll to pay in others. Biotechnology is being used by corporate and political interest in the most self-destructive drive for profit in all of history. It is only our species that works against itself by using the very progress it creates. It is only us who build with one hand and break with the other. There is a union of science and human progress, but where is the union of science and preservation? With corporations deciding the evolutionary fate of human health and longevity, is biotech really change for the better or is it the beginning of the end? Tune in! www.blogtalkradio.com/annakavanaughgeneticcrossroad and don't forget, you can subscribe to the show on iTunes to keep up with the program! |
